Nishu Archery Complex

Nishu Bowmen, Bismarck Parks and Recreation Department and the North Dakota Game & Fish Dept held a dedication ceremony on July 25th, 2008 for the new NISHU Archery complex located at 1409 Riverwood Drive in Bismarck. Thanks to the cooperative effort of these groups and generous personal and business donations from the surrounding community; the dream of having an indoor archery facility for the Bismarck/Mandan archery enthusiast has finally become a reality.

The new indoor Nishu Bowmen Archery Complex is located at the same location as the outdoor range in south Bismarck next to Riverwood Golf Course. The 90′ x 150′ facility provides a permanent, year-round location and allows Nishu Bowmen and Bismarck Parks and Recreation to conduct archery leagues and classes, tournaments, Bowhunter education classes and adaptive archery classes.

This new indoor facility features an upper level 20 yard target range in conjunction with a lower level area for hosting 3-D leagues and tournaments.

A recorded message can be listened to at any time by calling the Nishu Archery Complex at 701.221.3529 for open public shooting times available. The winter schedule for Public Open shooting begins on January 1st and runs into April depending on the weather. There may be additional open shooting times during the months October through December so call the phone number for the archery complex to listen to the recorded message during these months.

Card key access to Nishu members is allowed to the Archery Complex during the summer months for an additional fee. There are no scheduled open shooting hours for the public May through October.

The Nishu Bowmen Club, in partnership with the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District and the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, will be able to complete the building of a much anticipated indoor archery range at the site of the current outdoor range on Riverwood Drive by winter of 2009. The 90′ x 150′ facility will provide a permanent, year-round location and allow Nishu Bowmen, the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District and other organizations to conduct archery leagues and classes, tournaments, Bowhunter education classes and adaptive archery classes.

The new facility will also serve restrooms needs for those using the Riverwood trail and Walt Neuens Memorial Horse Park.

With the increased space and year-round site, the club can attract new membership and host more tournaments and events. This attracts more participants and visitors to Bismarck – Mandan and impacts local businesses.

Generous Nishu Bowmen members and area businesses have already generated over $117,000 to go toward building construction, but we still need your help. You can pledge any amount and your contribution will be tax deductible. Please consider contributing to the Nishu Bowmen indoor archery range – and make this dream come true!
